• Tatum Soaren: Tatum is traumatized by the death of his parents. He spent three years being treated by Dr. Tristyn Holmes in the psych ward of United Hospital, where it was discovered that he suffered from dissociative identity disorder. His evil alter, Landon, battles him for complete control.He shares a powerful secret with Landon that is immeasurable and dangerously frightening.Tatum only wants a normal life and to be able to put his parent’s death, his survivor’s guilt, and Landon behind him once and for all. However, there is a brewing darkness that promises to change his very existence forever.
• Landon: Landon is Tatum Soaren’s sociopathic alter-ego. His motives are clear, to reek havoc and satisfy his thirst for killing and absolute supremacy. He shares a very powerful gift with Tatum. The scope of his power and ability is still a mystery.
• Dr. Tristyn Holmes: Dr. Holmes is Tatum Soaren’s Psychiatrist. She is also his friend, mentor, and mother-figure. Prior to teaching and heading up the psychology dept. at the University of Minnesota, she was the head of psychiatry at United Hospital where she treated Tatum and his alter, Landon, for three years.She knows Tatum’s anguish and inner turmoil up close and personal. She may be the one person who holds the ability to cast light on Tatum and Landon’s dangerous secret but it may be to late for the doc.
• Detective Thomas Reddick: Reddick is the lead on Dr. Holmes’ homicide. Near retirement and over the hill, he is still as sharp as ever. Equipped with a great mind and a tongue sharp with sarcasm, his keen skills of observation, eye for detail, and deducting answers from clues makes him a killer’s worst nightmare.
• Robin Chase: Robin is a beautiful, brilliantly witty student at the University of Minnesota. She is Dr. Holmes’ esteemed apprentice and Tatum’s love interest. Her innocence and grace finds its way unwillingly in the midst of an epic battle between good and evil, between reality and the unknown… between life and death.
• Calvin Jensen: Calvin is a very disturbed and unbalanced young man. He also spent time in the psych ward of United Hospital. He has never formerly met Tatum but knows the evil that lurks inside him all too well.
