The source material for Thomas Malory's Le Morte D'Arthur and much other Arthurian literature, Geoffrey's History of the Kings of Britain also gives us the story of Lear and many other legendary British kings. A good read.

An excellent first person account by a historian of the 12th century providing background information for the Arthurian tales. The edition that I have is a paperback published by Dutton.

A very enjoyable, kinda true history of ancient Britain. Geoffrey counterbalances every fact with at least 2 legends. The seed of much of later British literature is in here, waiting to be planted.

I just never would've picked a book like this up otherwise. I would definitly recommend getting a guide to the book because without the class I more than likely wouldn't have understood it.
