- Lucas: He saved Jackie from Buck's attempted rape and he's in her economics class; he has a mysterious past and he falls for Jackie during the course of the novel. Works at Starbucks
- Kennedy Moore: Jackie's ex-boyfriend; he's the wonder boy at the university and most people love him; he broke up with Jackie because he wanted to "play the field" before becoming a politician.
- Landon Maxfield: The economics tutor for Dr. Heller's class
