It deals with betrayl, past missions, present missions, family and so much more. Characters can come as a complete surprise. This one doesn't have as much action until the end, but the actual descriptions of espionage work make up for it. ”

After the last three books, I was kind of glad to get away from the Holocaust storyline. In this one, there were a few spots where the historical reflections got to be a bit much. Overall, I liked it. There were a few interesting subplots in this one, including Gabriel's love interest and his wife, as well as the unfolding story of him being pulled away from art and back to the office.”
