“I agree 100%. A simple, boring "what if" story. I actually assumed the setting was in the 18th century or before, until I got to the reference to the television! The 60's weren't that long ago, nor were they like that! I was there. Too many good books to waste time on this one.”
“I agree wiith both of you. The first part didn't sound at all like it was set in the 60s. It seemed more like the 1930s. In the second half, he made a few 60s references, but by then the damage had been done.On Chesil Beach is simply not good value for money. My copy had three blank pages between every chapter in an attempt to pad out something so flimsy that it should have been published in a collection of short stories.”
