I'm sorry, but I cannot say I like this book. I can give credit to the fast pace, but that's about it that's positive. It's non-descriptive and cliche. A lot of it is unclear, and I'm still unsure what the main characters look like.

This is another of my favorite fantasy/fiction novels of all time. I read it a very long time ago and also read it to my mom; we both love The Wind Singer. While reading the novel, I was in love with the world that William Nicholson created. I need to go buy the other two. I think I'll do that right now, actually..

This is an excellent book and a real eye-opener. Kess is a wonderful heroine and I had little trouble admiring her. I think this trilogy really has something to say about how we judge others.

    MG:

The Wind Singer is an adventure story. In the story, a pair of twins and their 'tag-along' classmate go on a quest. The city they live in is too strict and formal. It has way too many rules. The kids don't like this system and want it to be changed. To make the city better, they have to find an object that will make their city a better place.

The three children travel through many places and get into all sorts of dangers which just makes the book even more exciting and fun to read.

The book is set in a place that is completely made up because it is impossible for a real place to be like that. There are many strange happenings which are way stranger than the lands in "Gulliver's Travels".

The secondary characters include the twins' family - the twin's parents and their baby sister Pinpin.

The whole quest starts with the fact that one of the twins rebels against the system and slowly the rest of the family has the same spirit and start rebelling too! These extra scenes are quite funny and livens up the book quite a bit.

If you like this book, there are two other book in the trilogy that I would recommend. This trilogy is called 'The Wind on Fire' trilogy.

This book is great for readers who love adventure stories!
