This is a great book. The book discusses racism in a small southern town, and i think it is really neat how Harper Lee brings together the literary elements to symbolize such a powerful message. I also liked the over lying theme that you should never kill a mockingbird because it only makes beautiful songs. What do you think that stands for? It can mean so many things! I really suggest this book to anyone who is looking for a good read.

Tremendous story of the problem of segregation and racism in the South. This is very well written, full of astute observations about human nature.

Hard to make up my mind which was better - the movie or the book. Both were superb !!

Now I understand why this is a classic book and won so many awards. Harper Lee pulls you into the story and makes you feel a part of it.

What can I say? This is my all-time favorite book. The characters ring true, the pacing is excellent, and it's a profound insight into human nature, the good and the bad.

My all-time favorite book. I reread this about once a year because I love it so much. I must thank my 8th grade english teacher, Mr. Chetson, the crazy New Hampshire native with the funny accent, for bringing this book to life for me. Normally, when a teacher decides to read a book to a class, the kids usually think "naptime" and have their eyes closed before he finishes the first paragraph. And also, its usually b/c the teacher really enjoys the sound of his/her own voice. But sometimes a tale is too good and it bears a lesson too great to allow it to be ruined by the haphazard oration of adolecent kids. So my teacher read the entire novel to us, imitating the appropraite souther accents and all, and no one in my class ever shut an eye while he was reading. This story is great. I wish everyone could have been introduced to it the way I was.

This is a great classic of American literature. Much like in Mark Twain's classic adventures of Huck Finn and Tom Sawyer, Harper Lee explores the nature of society and its individuals through the eyes of children growing up in an imperfect world.
