I really enjoyed reading it. I liked it because it was entertaining, I could relate to some of the stories, and also that the characters are around my age.
One reason I liked the book was because it was entertaining. In some of the stories there were events that took place. In one of the stories, Donna and Claudia, one of the main characters Donna gets in a car accident with her friends and gets the almost the whole top of her head ripped off. Another story that was entertaining was, My Most Memorable Christmas. In this story a little girl named Carol was thrown from a motorcycle. In the motorcycle accident she had landed in a ditch next to a slaughter house where her leg got infected by bacteria. She got her leg amputated. Then after her surgery her doctor told her that she could go home for Christmas. That December she was suppose to come home with a prosthesis on her left leg, but she came home with a new permanent.
Another reason I liked the book was because I could relate to some of the stories. In a lot of the stories kids were dealing with living with only one parent. I can relate cause I only live with my mom. In one of the stories, Beautiful, She Said, a girl named Jessica was not the cutest baby at birth. Even though everyone said that she was ugly her Nana said that she was beautiful. Then when Jessica was about thirteen her Nana got Alzheimer’s disease. She then died a week later. Before she died Jessica told her that she was beautiful. I can relate to that story because my great-grandmother died and before she died she said that I was beautiful and I told her that she was beautiful also.
The last reason I liked the book was because almost all of the characters were my age. I have read sixty- four stories and about fifty-six of them had characters that were my age. The characters that are my age help me understand things in life and that I am not the only one in this world that has certain problems. In one of the stories, there was a girl who was just starting junior high and what their fears are. Next time you get a book try to get one that has characters that are your age.
Now you know all about my book, Chicken Soup for the Teenage Soul II . Remember next time you pick a book consider the following: characters that are around your age, entertaining, and also stories that you can relate to.
