If you haven't read a bizillion Marvel comics from the 1940's to the late 1990's don't bother with this book. A team of writers sat down and carefully crafted an alternative future for the Marvel universe that is... stunning. This is a work of literature compared to it's original comic book format. It ties the various divergent mythos, sciences, heroes, villains, alien cultures and chronological inconsistencies of over five decades of Marvel mayhem, into a single tome.
