Themes & Symbolism edit see section history

  • Schrödinger's cat: Schrödinger's cat is an imaginary cat that participates in a hypothetical experiment devised by Austrian physicist Erwin Schrödinger in 1935. He thought up the experiment to illustrate quantum entanglement, where the combination of two systems that once interacted but then separated, remain entangled in an indefinite state until measured. A cat is placed in a sealed box with poison that has a fifty-fifty chance of being activated inside the box. Until the box is unsealed, the cat could be either alive or dead and remains in an unknown state of limbo. Once the box is opened, the cat's existence is determined. Quantum 7 presents a similar scenario in which the protagonist travels back in time to save a life, and realizes for the first time the ripple effect of our actions on the world around us. The lives of loved ones hang in the balance of her choices.
