It's funny, that with every new "Scarpetta" book, I expect that they will start getting rather formulaic. I mean, that this is her 20th in the series, yet they all have a certain freshness, despite all of them having more than a fair share of drama, and angst. The four main characters(Scarpetta, Benton, Lucy, & Marino) all have flaws, some significant, which leads to a lot of drama. Yet Cornwell keeps coming up with different plot ideas, leavening lots of technical details into the mix, while keeping the pace relatively crisp. I really appreciate the more prolific writers, who keep coming up with great stuff, book after book.
