This has to be my favourite series of all time. I have never connected with characters as much as I have, and I have never loved characters as much as in this serie.

I *loved* this book, I have re-read it several times. I have read the entire series at least twice through. I have never loved characters from any other series as I have loved the inhabitants of Eileanan.

i thought these were just ok. it was an exercise in fantasy writing - creatine of a world and social structure and all, but no real delving into the characters or any deeper concepts.

I bought this book on a whim because the back cover sounded interesting, and I lucked out. I was surprised that I could not put this book down and then I ran to the library for the rest of the books. I really enjoyed the characterization and the plot line...the characters are so well drawn that you feel as though you know them. I think that this series probably could have been shortened from 6 books to about 3 or 4, but other than that I think it was well worth the read...definately fast and easy reads.
