• Colonial Williamsburg's animals provide a link to our colonial past. This lavishly illustrated book covers domestic and wild animals, including those in the Colonial Willliamsburg Foundation's Rare Breed program, which preserves and showcases animals-among them Devon cattle, leicester longwool sheep, and American Cream Draft and Canadian horses-similar to those that lived in the colonial era. Link to the Past demonstates the integral role animals once played. Additional photography by Tom Green, Barbara Lombardi, Kelly Mihalcoe, and Lael White.
