    My sister gave me this self-help book, no doubt because I don't enjoy cooking. It is about theory, not just a collection of recipes. For instance, one can sauté many things, so there is a section on that cooking method. I don't know that I am a better cook for having read it, but this book would be a great help to anyone wanting to master the art as well as the science of cooking.
