- Della Jackson: Former military, now the lead investigator at Lost, Inc. Della lost her son while serving in Afghanistan, returned to a husband blaming her and serving her with divorce papers. That happens three years before the story opens . . . but now, it appears the man who murdered her son has returned for Della. But is he her stalker? Or is it the serial killer pursued by her good friend Paul Mason? Together, they must find out--and find themselves, each other and faith.
- Paul Mason: Former military, Paul now runs Florida Vet Net, an organization that helps veterans reintegrate into civilian life on returning from deployments and leaving the military. Paul has it all, but with a killer after him, he can't pursue anyone, much less Della Jackson.
- Madison McKay: The owner of Lost, Inc. and Della Jackson's boss.
- Mrs. Renee Renault: Madison McKay, owner of Lost, Inc.'s assistant. Mrs. Renault was once married to the commander of the local military base, home to the top-secret facility, the Nest.
