Wonderful cover, wonderful read. Opinionated, good-natured, somewhat obsessive about details but all in the service of figuring out how to prepare some great dish at home, definitely does his homework, and makes me want to taste a real French baguette.

Didn’t Like It

Given to me by a girlfriend who had read it, memorized it, and would frequently quote facts contained within. Certainly Steingarten's passion and knowledge of food and cuisine is amazing, but as I do not share his passion to that level of intensity, it was a somewhat dull read.
