Excellent stories with a really poor quality introduction. Malzberg clearly misinterprets Brown and makes him sound grim and depressing. His stories are far from it, and though some of them are amusingly outdated, they're still great reads.

A great collection of one of the all time best short story writers in science fiction. If you love irony, Fred Brown is your guy.

Well, this is one of those massive omnibus volumes put together by and for the fans -- the real fans -- for who else but a real fan would buy it? I am that fan, of Fredric Brown, both of his mysteries, his crime-fiction, his science-fiction (which this volume collects).

Among many others I could mention allow me to choose just one: "Nightmare in Blue" (perhaps the most perfect short-short horror story ever written).
