Twisted

High school senior Tyler Miller used to be the kind of guy who faded into the background—average student, average looks, average dysfunctional family. McMickin's bookworms 63 books / 44 members / 325 posts READ THIS BEFORE YOU START POSTING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
This is a private group for my seniors who are completing their second book project - which brings them all one step closer to passing my class and, hopefully, graduating! Students are to start a post with their book title in the subject line. Pose a question or make a comment about your book within one week of joining. Then, over the next two weeks, respond to at least three other people. Finally, post a brief review of your book when you complete it - do this under your original post. All 3 of my classes will be under the same group; therefore, it is very important that you put your book title in the subject line. Also, keep all posts relevant to the subject! I am going to start one post about something random - you can use this to talk to each other about how much you hate all this work I am assigning- or anything else random. I won't be mad....say whatever you want to each other as long as it is here and not under a book post! : )

Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry is a Scottish boarding school of magic. The castle is in the mountains near a lake. The precise location can never be uncovered as the school is hidden by the most powerful spells possible. Spells protecting the castle include anti-Apparition. These spells may be lifted by the Headmaster. Most electronic devices do not work on Hogwarts grounds.

Houses
Hogwarts students are divided into four Houses; Gryffindor, Hufflepuff, Ravenclaw and Slytherin. They were named after the four founders, Godric Gryffindor, Helga Hufflepuff, Rowena Ravenclaw and Salazar Slytherin.

School Spirit
Hogwarts' motto is "Draco dormiens nunquam titillandus", meaning Never tickle a sleeping dragon.

The School Song:
"Hogwarts, Hogwarts, Hoggy Warty Hogwarts,
Teach us something please,
Whether we be old and bald,
Or young with scabby knees,
Our heads could do with filling,
With some interesting stuff,
For now they're bare and full of air,
Dead flies and bits of fluff,
So teach us things worth knowing,
Bring back what we've forgot,
Just do your best, we'll do the rest,
And learn until our brains all rot."

Mrs. Gaetano's English Class, Period 1, Third Quarter 29 books / 20 members / 141 posts Welcome to your third quarter outside reading book project! Your first attempt at Shelfari was wonderful. We are going to change things a little bit and try to grow in our responses to the literature. 1. I would like you to write a book review where you explain what is going on in the book. Notice, this is not a plot summary, but an overview of what a reader should expect as she reads the book. Please look on shelfari.com for a review of your book. It should help you understand what you should include in your project. 2. Along with the review I would like you to include a quote that exemplifies the character, a theme, or the understanding of the book. 3. Finally, I want you to end this review with a recommendation. Who would like this book? What other books can you relate your book to? After you are done with this recommendation I would like you to comment on your classmates’ reviews. This requires you to make a thoughtful comment and to ask a question. You are required to respond to at least three people. Please look at the project wrap-up for the last quarter to see some truly exemplary examples.
