Ashley isn't interested in prom like her best friend Nat, until the math teacher disappears with the money for the Prom. So Ashley helps Nat to get ready and organize the Prom.

this was good book but honestly i've read better books. I didn't really think this book was a book that i could relate to. and i like reading books that i am able to relate to. i think however the story as a whole was really good it sort of captured the meaning of prom and what it was about and it also really showed how the clicks in school work which i thought was really cool because thats exactly how it is in real life

I was glad that Ashley stopped acting rebellious and actually did something. Everything worked out for her in the end, and that made me happy. A good book and an easy read.

I listened to this one on CD on a 6 hour car trip by myself. I didn't think the person they selected to do the reading fit the character very much--and also, listening to something is different than reading it, so take that in consideration when reaing my review.

What I liked about this book: Anderson got a lot of things right about inner-city schools. The atmosphere and attitude rings true to me. I really liked this because it seems so easy to get wrong in important ways.

What else? Well, some of the details about putting on Prom were a little listy when listening.

I loved the Grandma's character. She was the best part.

Still, not a particularly memorable book to me personally.

I chose to read this book for school summer reading. The book was OK... kinda predictable.
