I found this book to be a little weird. I herd that I was suppost to be a really good book but I really didn't get the idea of it. I love Katherine Paterson's other books though. I just don't understand how she could just up and leave her home and never come back for anything but funerals.

This book is not a good read. She falls in love with this old guy, hates her sis, and wishes she was a guy. Now were these assets in the book to convey that she has a messed-up life? One she wouldn't have if she were an only child? I don't know, but if you need a different read, go for it. Just feel ready for disapointment.

I remember reading this in Jr High and absolutely loving it. Great story of what you can do even if you don't fit everyone's idea of what you 'should' be.
