Her name was Capri, and she was Air. She could shift the direction of the wind, create billowing clouds out of nothing, and charm birds into dancing on her open palm. She belonged to an elite group of beings, responsible for preserving the balance of nature and the safety of Earth from an underworld that deserved to be feared, and needed to be controlled.
There’s only one problem: she’s lost, with no memory of her past.
Since Capri could remember, she had been alone, brought to an orphanage in Virginia at three years old with no explanation of where she came from or who she was. But when she, at eighteen, finally discovers the answers she has been searching for her entire life, she finds that the truth is much more extraordinary, and far darker than she ever could have imagined.
She’ll find her true family, the people of Euphora, and discover that the myths of Mother Earth, the Muses, Fates, Furies and Dryads are all an impossible, but very real reality. Her destiny as an Air Dryad is revealed to her, and she learns her true purpose.
But there are forces at work that are attempting to destroy her, for deep within the vague memories she has from the night she was taken from Euphora lies the identity of the killer responsible for her mother’s death, and her kidnapping. Capri continues to explore her memories, piecing the facts together in her search for the truth, regardless of the consequences.
Along the way, Capri discovers love, friendship, and a strength within herself that she never imagined she could possess. But will it be enough to save her from the monsters who will stop at nothing to eliminate her?
“But when she realized that she felt the rush of the wind not only on her skin, but in her heart, she knew it had been a reaction deep within her soul. Somewhere, beyond the gift of blood in her veins and the heart that beat full with life and power, was the Air Dryad, freeing itself from all boundaries.”
