The recipes are good the only thing missing is dishes for easter and christmas. But other than that this book is a great to any collection” see full review » see other reviews » |
“This has been a most useful reference for me. Very compact
but contains all the recipes and background to traditions you would
want to know.”
“During a particularly challenging time in my life, I found and fell in love with Ukraine. Many of its traditional recipes are staples in my cooking repertoire, and I'm so glad I've found this book that I really enjoy. Great for ANY kitchen and cook!!!”

All the better if the purpose of the trip is to seek out new culinary experiences. And, Eastern Europe is a region with one of the most diverse and exciting cuisines going. So, it was with high expectations that I approached Ukraine, A Culinary Road Trip. Here’s what drew me in, firstly Nikita Lysytskiy, Val Shoss and Helene Smirnoff, first rate cooks, writers and food-obsessed wits. I love that they will unabashedly try anything new with genuine curiosity and appreciation, they are not culinary show-offs. The goal is simple, seek out and enjoy foods unique to Ukraine. Really nice!”

First, the drawbacks:
1. insufficient information about the regional cuisine of the Western Ukraine. Still, the central Ukrainian cuisine is a little different
2. very detailed itemized alcoholic beverages. agree, this is important, but the book is still on the kitchen, not the drinks.
Now the pros
A. did not find any mistakes - all describe the same as the current culture of serving dishes
Two. Picture no complaints. for those who are not familiar with Ukrainian cuisine, it is convenient
3. shows the average price for all meals. I recommend to pay attention to them and do not pay!
4. gps coordinates of Ukrainian cuisine restaurants.
In general, the book is useful for tourists”
