But as I cannot depend on wishes, I will be content that this book was written and I was around to be amazed by it. This is exactly the kind of book I enjoy. When I was young, I was the kid that wanted to be running through the woods surrounded only by nature (probably not by the evil the main character encounters, but hey) and I am sure there are plenty of people out there to agree with me.So clearly Ms. Paver has picked an excellent topic. She takes us back eons into the prehistoric world where Man is still at the mercy of Nature. Humans live in clans, hunting and studying the magic of the world around them. The characters are wonderful, real people who just happen to live in a very distant time. I felt so much for Torak and Renn, and Wolf grew on me like a pet puppy. The descriptions are vivid and rich, but not at the expense of the adventurous pace. This is the next great series.”

That's the problem about school reading- kids can't pick books for themselves, so when they often get books they don't like, they slowly start to not enjoy reading. Horrible, right? But, anyway, about Wolf Brother...
Pretty bad. Dull, boring. It was an 'adventure' type of book that really wasn't much of adventure. The whole time Torak was travelling... travelling... yawn... yawn... yawn...
Too much useful description.... just... blah!!! NOT recommended. And, unfortunately, people said this was the best book of the five or so other books kids were assigned to read. Ouch!
Occassional times were O.K.- but they went away pretty quickly.”
“good book it is so cool how his wolf jumps and grabs the things that you have to get to kill the bear and takes up to the mountain of the world spirt ”
