Setting & Locations edit
The setting is a fictitious future world, maybe 3,000 years from now. It's 2,000 years after a nuclear Armageddon destroys Earth as we know it. It's a strange world, in that the characters recognize it as their old, pre-nuclear war home. But it's not. The topography is different, flora and fauna aren't' the same. It's more of a composite of places they have known than a real place. Yet the characters are real, and they're living there.
- Santa Ynez Valley, CA: The home of the Santa Barbara wine country, Santa Ynez Valley is about forty minutes north east of the city of Santa Barbara in California. It's a beautiful place, replete with wide pastures, enormous oak trees, the sparkling Lake Cachuma, and, of course, all the wineries.
- Native American cliff ruins: The setting also resembles the Native American cliff dwellings in New Mexico (Mogollon), Arizona, and Colorado.
