The day before she's scheduled to start, she decides to do a dry run to the office to ensure she won't be late and everything will go smoothly. “It was amazing! I actually fell in love with Gideon Cross and he is by far my FAVE BFF [3 It can be easily compared to FSoG, only that it actually is much better written than it (where there is so much nonsense talk about inner goddesses and subconscious')!”Wilma916 wrote this review 10 hours ago. “Two survivors of child abuse meet, have hot sex (many times) and find that their paths to healing are through each other. At least that's what I think. More plot, stronger characterization and better writing than 50 Shades...that's saying a lot but not so much. Eva's a much more interesting person than the 50 Shades chick.”Salsabrarian wrote this review 12 days ago. ( reply | permalink ) Was this review helpful? Yes | No
“** spoiler alert ** I prefer an actual storyline vs reading a porn... with that said, in my opinion this book was much better than the 50 Shades series. There is more story than steamy. Don't get me wrong, there are plenty of steamy scenes, but it didn't leave me feeling like I just read the script to a porn flick. There were more characters and background info to set up future books.
I will say that it was basically the same principle - rich guy who has sexual issues falls for an insecure woman, they make the press, he has family problems and an ex that he speaks with frequently causing drama for the new couple, she shares an apartment with her bff, etc etc. Basically the same idea for a book, only one author focused on the bondage and made the book about sex while the other dove into the characters and added the sex as a bonus”
“Još jedan serijal poput 50 nijansi... zbog hrvatskog prijevoda, možda mi se i više svidio od dotičnog.”Elöise wrote this review 3 weeks ago. ( reply | permalink ) Was this review helpful? Yes | No

“I have to say that this is my second romance - erotica novel that i have read and it is phenomenal.
Although, at some points its cheesy the way that Day writes made me turn the pages like crazy.
This book contains strong language and crazy love scenes that i would only recommend to hormone mature people...
I loved the characters and how well are made, how their flaws match with our own and how i was bonded with them. I loved the whole dominant male and Day did a really good job with the sex god Gideon Cross who is now one of my favorite book characters. He is not perfect but he is awesome in his own hot steamy sexy way and i love love love him for that.
Eva on the other side is the broken heroin that saves the broken hero. Its cheesy and classic on this particular genre (but not only) but its made so good that the whole things comes to match the needs of a woman in love. She has her insecurities and her demands and jealousy is something i can totally relate with.
The sex scenes were amazing and the language had nothing to do with 50 Shades...it was a lot more intense and weird at some points but it totally made you feel things.
The books explores the side effects of sexual (and not only) abuse two people suffered and how they did with it in a relationship. How it affects them and what they try to do to make the situations better. So the whole book isn't only about sex but also about healing and understanding and dealing with your past and the wounds it left on you.
I'm totally reading book two and three.”
“so much of this book reminds me of fifty shades trilogy but it's so hot the lead characters have so much issues apart from that the author shows that money doesn't make any one immune to abuse of any kind love the angle the author has used and excellent read with a lot of raunchy sex scenes. ”Rhona Charles wrote this review Friday, October 25, 2013. “This book is too much fuss about nothing. Eva gets annoyed if Gideon does something nice, if he does something not nice. The sex scenes are kind of boring. ”zammy wrote this review Wednesday, October 23, 2013. ( reply | permalink ) Was this review helpful? Yes | No

Originally I borrowed this from the library, I was thirty two (32) pages into the book when I jumped up and ran to the local Target to get the second book because the library didn't have it. So I got it so I wouldn't have to wait to read it. Let me tell you the best decision ever because I could read from one book to the third without waiting. And I finished this book in one day.
I truly enjoyed meeting Eva & Gideon, they were both good, strong characters with depth and issues and flaws but with each other they absolutely made each other great and at the same time the worst people. And OMGawd their private moments???!!! Sweet jeezus it's a fire!! They did move with lightening fast speed but I guess when you know you know, and boy did they know. I LUUURRRVE Gideon Cross, why yes I do!! OMgosh I know see why people love this book/series so much, and why they are always tweeting Sylvia about it.
Eva's background story is so heartbreaking and I'm so proud of her mother for doing the best for her daughter with a tough situation, especially when she could have pretended she didn't know just to keep the money on tap. Instead she was a good mother and *although personally I think if she had been paying attention more she would have caught it before it reached that boiling point* did what was best for Eva. It still left her with scars though and Gideon pushed all the wrong buttons when he first met her. I wrote on goodreads "is it ok to like a character and still want to punch them in the face??" Yeah that's how Gideon made me feel when I first met him. Gideon himself has a pretty messed up background as well but we haven't been given the full story, I'm going to have to read to find it all out.
Imma need exes to take all the seats over there and stay out of grown folks business. Really though??*ghetto moment over*These women are doing the most especially because he isn't giving you even the slightest time of day. Just tacky.
The attraction, the love that develops, the complications of the relationship are just so well written & amazing. Ms.Day writes in a way that draws you in & keeps you glued you just want to know what happens next and how are they going to meet the next challenge as a couple & as individuals. Even some of the side characters are interesting and have depth, i'm looking forward to learning more about them as well.
Reading Eva's and Gideon's journey to couple~dom has been wow, good and fraught with lots of danger **for others who tried to interrupt the reading, I'm looking at you mister man**. Definitely a story I will be re-reading especially now that I own my own copy. Yeah I wasn't even into book two before I went online and purchased the other two for my own library. That's how good they are ok?!!
Make sure to check back for the review of Book 2: Reflected In You.”
