“I was given this book from Netgalley for an honest review.
I thought this book was great the first time I read it and I felt the same way about it the second time around. I loved Jenna, the main chick in it. She was just pleasant to get to know and even though she had a rough start in life she always stayed strong and kept that big smile on her face. She had an amazing heart and seemed to almost give anyone a chance. She was such a change from a lot of the characters I have read about lately and frankly she was just a breathe of fresh air. And ahh Burke, the brooding businessman who didn't have time for a smile. Even though he was a jerk 80% of the time in the beginning, I still liked him and maybe close to to the end he may have made me swoon a little. Especially when it came to Peanut lol. I am glad these two met and just dumped each others world upside down. It made for an entertaining story.
the writing was great and flowed all through the book. You rarely found any down time in the story. I do wish there was a little more to the love scenes but hey that may just be me. Great editing though, I am not really sure if I found any other problems with the book. Overall every character was great and I didn't really want this light hearted funny little tale of thoroughbreds and trail trash to end.”
“While romance novels are not a genre I normally read, the description of this book caught my attention. The plot is far from "typical romance novels" and had many interesting details for the setting and characters. While not a particularly "smutty" book, the few scenes and references made to sex are crass. While overall this book held my interest and had interesting plot turns, the general attitude the two protagonists had for them, even if they were fooling themselves, was demeaning to themselve and the other person. ”Lynne S wrote this review Thursday, January 10, 2013.
