“While romance novels are not a genre I normally read, the description of this book caught my attention. The plot is far from "typical romance novels" and had many interesting details for the setting and characters. While not a particularly "smutty" book, the few scenes and references made to sex are crass. While overall this book held my interest and had interesting plot turns, the general attitude the two protagonists had for them, even if they were fooling themselves, was demeaning to themselve and the other person. ”
