The history of cheering goes as far back as the late 1880's when the first organized, recorded yell was performed on an American campus: "RAY, RAY, RAY! TIGER, TIGER, TIGER! SIS, SIS, SIS! BOOM, BOOM, BOOM! Aaaaaah! PRINCETON, PRINCETON, PRINCETON!," done in locomotive style, was first seen and heard during a college football game.
