A book to savor and never forget.”
“Actually, I read this book over 20 years ago and loved it then.”

Of a beautiful lady, Penelope Keeling, her three children, all quite different from each other. Shell Seekers was a painting by her father, and the importance of this piece to Penelope and her children. This story is about Penelope's family and what they each believed was their entitlement to the painting, showing the ugly side of greed, but also the love and understanding of Olivia, her youngest child, now a successful young woman. Great read, and most enjoyable”

Penelope is the mother and this a story of her life. She has 3 children who want to make choices for her that she is not ready to accept. She has valuable paintings that her son wants to sell. She has a love of her life and a chance at happiness. Life is too short as it is not to follow your heart.”

I found it hard to get into unless I really had the time to delve into it for a stretch of time and lose myself in Pilcher's detailed descriptions. It is not my favorite book that she wrote. It seems so sad. ”
