How many things has this guy done in his life?!?!...The number of jobs and experiences that Mark Twain has had, it's no wonder Tom Sawyer never had any shortage of interesting situations to get himself into trouble :) And for all that, the author has absolutely no ego, the disarming and bordering...

    Mark Twain holds a mirror up to humanity in all of his writing, but in writing his autobiography he also incisively turns the mirror upon himself. Although he didn't shy away from doing that in his other works, in The Autobiography... he digs deeper into what makes him "him". And by "him", I obviously mean Mark Twain. Delving into Samuel Langhorne Clemens is an entirely different matter.

    I always seem to be interested in the struggles one goes through, only to achieve greatness. He was a humorous, articulate, and remarkably profound teacher.
