This solid non-fiction title will get kids excited about the possibilities of farming in small spaces. The author provides the need for urban farming in easily digested statistics and terms like food miles to help readers understand the relationship between energy use/conservation and food production and distribution. My only complaint is the title which is actually far narrower than the focus of the book. I am afraid my students won't ever pick this up because they do not live in a "city". Fact is, there is good information here for all the planet's inhabitants.

    Highly recommended.
