This is a fun summer read. It is the story of a group of college friends, who back in the early 60's traveled down the Mississippi on a raft in Huck-Finn style. Years later, "the girls" meet on a Mississippi steamboat cruise in memorial of one of their most intriguing friends.

I think the idea of reuniting one last time for a friend who died was a beautiful idea. However...they make it seem like they are the only four left alive. Actually you find out later that there were more still alive, just not invited. Very odd for wanting to recreate a trip that held so many memories for them all.
I also felt that the characters were just half explained. You were left wanting to know more about them and their sometimes odd idiosyncrasies.
I could not recomend...
