I usually enjoy reading these books but they are getting a little old with the same old, same old behavior of Agatha Raisin.

Generally awful writing - fun story - but Beaton's got to step it up! It's my fault, though, as it's the second time I've told myself I wouldn't read her new book, but I did, anyway. Next time, no......

Actually -3 star. Agatha just wasn't the same old curmudgeon I had come to love. I may not continue with this series but after all 23 are probably quite enough.

I like this series. It is getting predictable but I like it just the same. It does seem as if Charles might finally be good for Agatha though. He comes off as far more likeable in this book than he does in others.

a little too silly ... I think her mysteries are fun and she tries to add humor but it lacks something

Formulaic but this is a formula I like.

Agatha has fallen in love again, this time with the local gardener, George Marston. He has charmed all the ladies in their village. Things go terribly wrong when George fails to show up for the charity ball that Agatha has organized.

Simply awful. I only gave it two stars because I usually like Agatha Raisin, but this was miserable. Narration was all a complete jumble. I like the Hammish Macbeth series more because he is a much more likeable character. I just hope M.C. Beaton isn't going the way of Lilian Jackson Braun.

#23 in the Agatha Raisin series was enjoyable. The ending was slightly different from the other books and I like that it was not exactly the same formula...Agatha is still her insecure, unrelenting self, but when the plot involves many of the other characters it remains more interesting.

Another Agatha Raisin mystery. She gets herself in deeper than expected when she takes on a case.
