The film is also great as well, especially the first one. But surely had never the film caught everything from the sense of book. I have enjoyed both.

I was talking to a friend about this book yesterday and he said it was something that I should read. I love the movie, but I'm just not sure about whether or not I should just go ahead and read it. I've heard alot of mixed reviews about it, some say its too long and not worth it and others say its amazing. I really like reading about crime and family drama and it seems that this book is full of it. I'm just not sure because I've watched movies that were awesome and then went back and read the book and I didn't like the book as much as I would have hoped. What do you think...is it worth reading?

    the gangster movie genre

I'VE READ THE BOOK, AND HAVE SEEN THE MOVIES BASED ON IT...THE BOOK IS GREAT...ON THE EDGE OF YOUR SEAT READING...YOU WON'T WANT TO PUT IT DOWN...

THE MOVIES, ON THE OTHER HAND, WELL THEY'RE NOT SO GOOD...THEY WERE MADE IN AN ERA, WHERE VIOLENCE WAS A NO-NO...

IF THEY WERE TO DO A REMAKE ON IT TODAY, IT WOULD BE MORE IN LINE WITH THE BOOK ITSELF....ME, I'M STILL WAITING TO SEE IF THEY DO A REMAKE...
