LaPlante wonders if the family Abba grew up with- four sisters, and Sam Jo, the only at-home brother, was the family her daughter wrote about in Little Women- Laurie (and almost-brother) with Beth corresponding to one of Abba's older sisters- Abba herself, an inspiration for Amy?
- Samuel Joseph May: Sam Jo, brother to Abigail May
