I love this book and I've read it many times and I've seen the movie more than three times in a week. My favorite book.
okiee...this is nothing more than an average historical mills and boons. why on earth can't let a good thing be. lets just leave it to our imaginations as to how darcy and jane's life would have shaped up after marriage...it's boring and predictable right from the begining....disappointed...but then i guess i don't what i was thinking even looking at this book.
I enjoyed this novel very much. The characters stayed pretty true to type and the storyline was very interesting. I was not disappointed in the way in which the story continued from the orinignal I did, however, think that the sex scenes were gratuitous. That did not ruin the book, but it did distract from the plot and was pretty annoying.
I agree... not that sex is bad, but Austen's romance is what gave her flair! :)
The joy of Jane Austen is the suspence entangled in the romance and not the sex. This book provides a fun glimps into the future of Elizabeth and Mr. Darcy, but it's not Jane Austen's Darcy. Instead of romance and subtle innuendo, sex is almost pornographic. It's a good, fun, easy read, but not Austen. :)
NOT pornographic...I enjoyed the two books by Berdoll, and I think that the fact that Jane Austen herself was such a trailblazer, while outwardly living such a traditional life as the spinster daughter of a minister father, and who lived all her life with her parents and other unmarried sister....I think there's an element in Austen that would have/could have cut loose if she could have in that era!
I'm really wishing that some readers would let this book go back to the library so that I can get it thru inter-library loan! This is #1 on my wish list and really want to escape into someone elses view of how Darcy and Lizzy ended up.
I'm about 30 pages in and so far I like it! Yes, it's a little bawdy, but love the satirical tone of the book. Kind of reminds me of Desperate Housewives in a way. Can't wait to see how Elizabeth & her sisters fare in this stage of their lives.
Oh my gosh. I really did not like this book. I know lots of people do, but I really can't see the characters really doing and saying some of the things in the book, at least, not like the author portrayed it.
