Didn’t Like It “Was a bit too romance-y for my liking along with a bit too much fantasy smut. Male was the adonis of lovers and while the female was actually strong and smart and not a whimp it did save the book for me. |

“I couldn't quite make myself rate this book as a 5, but it's at least a 4 for me, 4.5 at best. I think it would've been impossible for me to dislike this piece by Howard, considering how wonderful the thrill of adventure, mixed in with the romance, is. Ben Lewis is fantastic, but I thought Jillian was a tad too cool and aloof even after her and Ben claimed their 'happily ever after' ending. But, hey, the 'fire and ice couple' seems to work for them.”

However, I did like the premise of a lost city and going through the jungle and up rivers in search for it Ben constantly thinking about how he wants to 'be' with Jillian annoyed me.
Without giving too much away Jillian forgave way too rapidly and Ben's character morphed into a completely different person then the guy we were introduced to.
If you like romance/smut then you'd enjoy but if you're looking for a strong plot with good character development I'd skip this one.”

“Passable romance about an archeological expedition in the jungle. The hero is OK and the only remotely memorable aspect of the novel. ”

“This is a fun adventure/suspense book. I loved the Amazon setting and the chase scenes were pretty enjoyable.”
