Didn’t Like It1 of 1 members found this review helpful“I did not finish that book. I realize I don't like the book. I guess that is not my kind of book I would read. Blink is my first book by Ted Dekker. I am willing to try other books. I already have 'Black'. I will read that after I finish Harlan Coben's The Innocent. I know that I did watch Thr3e...” see full review » see other reviews » |

I am intrested in learning more. It ended up with a christian theme to it that I usually don't care for but the book did a nice job of incorperatting it in with the story. and the story it self was very good. It stated the writers veiws but not in an obnoxios or preachy way. I am not christian and it didn't convert me, but I would read this book again.”

“It was an interesting story, action packed and full of drama. I had a few problems with it though. For one, the main character was a bit of a jerk and it was never explained (to my satisfaction) why he was like that.
I also could have done without the over-intellectual discussions on the existence of god. By the end of the book it felt like the author was thinking aloud. In one scene, the main character goes into a church and lectures the people there on how god doesn't exist (part of his jerkiness by the way - there was no reason for him to do it as far as the plot was concerned). A chapter or two later, he's done a total 180 and is enthusiastically proclaiming god's existence. By the end, I realized the book's purpose was primarily evangelizing the Christian faith. I could have done with less praying and more action, but then, I don't think I'm the target audience for this book since I'm not a believer. I only read it because I really liked Thr3e, which is his "mainstream" book (not specifically written for Christian audiences, like this one was).
Still, it was a good story overall. ”
