- Jason Apollo Papadopoulos: Fifteen year old boy trying to care for him mentally ill father without exposing their situation to anyone who might separate the father and son.
- Crazy Glue, Laugh Track, Sexy Lady, Aunt Bee, Fat Bald Guy: The the voices Jason hears. They act as a sort of Greek Chorus, expressing what Jason cannot.
- Shelby: Jason's friend who gets him involved in Dr. Gomez's group. Her mother has ALS.
- Haze Horton: A junior who is picked on because he is so un coordinated. His parents are in the middle of a very nasty divorce. He also attends Dr. Gomez's group.
- Pete Funkel: High school junior and member of Dr. Gomez's group. Pete's father is a drug addict. Pete is an activist for peace and animal rights.
- Mr Papadopoulos: Jason's mentally ill father. He was once a talented violinist and an author, but now he is lost in an inner world inhabited by Greek tragedy. He fears the Furies are coming to get him.
