A fantastic series with the most enthralling characters. The heart of the books may be the romantic life of Sookie Stackhouse, but with every book, Charlaine Harris introduces new characters and makes us appreciate the old characters even more - Eric and Pam are such fascinating characters! Charlaine is a genuis!

This is is an excellent way to spend an evening. I LOVED this whole series. It is a light read, but a very fun ride. I started reading this books at work and when the HBO series came out and I fell in love immediately. Sookie and her "friends" make for a wonderful fantasy that is dark enough to keep Anne rice fans interested, funny enough to keep romance fans interested and mysterious enough to keep mystery lovers turning pages. I happen to like all three so its no wonder I read all 8 books in less than two weeks, and I was sad when I finished #8 only to find #9 won't come out until April 2009.

If you like the show then you will LOVE the books. The show is a very good TV adaptation and the changes between the two make sense, but the books allow for more back story.

    I highly reccomend these books.

I just completed this book, and I thought that it was great. A light read, and for me very different story than I am use to reading. I saw the show and couldn't wait to find out what happens next so I picked up the book. I wasn't disappointed.

I just ordered the first book. I started watching the show last night the first 3 eps and when I found out that they are based on a series of books, well I couldn't stop myself from ordering the first book, I would have bought more books in the series, but I don't what to get spoiled. I usually don't get that carried away, but I couldn't help myself, now I just hope that the book is good.

I like the fact that Sookie didn't go back with Bill. Its more real life. it shows that Sookie has the strength to hold true to her convictions.

I'd like to know how many people (warning: spoiler!) think Sookie should've been more forgiving and gone back to Bill? I like the series, and although I think the weretiger is pretty cool and a nice guy without a lot of baggage, I wish she'd gone back to Bill. Has anyone read the latest book?

These books are wonderful, a fantastic story line, and really great character development. As the stories progress your lead grows and tries not to repeat her mistakes. I wait each year for the next installment!

The order of the Sookie series (aka Southern Vampire) is the following:

    1. Dead Until Dark
    2. Living Dead in Dallas
    3. Club Dead
    4. Dead to the World
    5. Dead As A Doornail
    6. Definitely Dead
    7. Altogether Dead
    8. From Dead to Worse (coming May 6, 2008)

What confuses you about the short stories?

I'm originally from Louisiana, too, and I think that might be one of the reason I love the books so much. Well, that and it's just a great series :)
