“This is is an excellent way to spend an evening. I LOVED this whole series. It is a light read, but a very fun ride. I started reading this books at work and when the HBO series came out and I fell in love immediately. Sookie and her "friends" make for a wonderful fantasy that is dark enough to keep Anne rice fans interested, funny enough to keep romance fans interested and mysterious enough to keep mystery lovers turning pages. I happen to like all three so its no wonder I read all 8 books in less than two weeks, and I was sad when I finished #8 only to find #9 won't come out until April 2009. If you like the show then you will LOVE the books. The show is a very good TV adaptation and the changes between the two make sense, but the books allow for more back story. I highly reccomend these books. ”

“I just completed this book, and I thought that it was great. A light read, and for me very different story than I am use to reading. I saw the show and couldn't wait to find out what happens next so I picked up the book. I wasn't disappointed. ”
