“3 1/2 stars. There are a lot of things I really liked about this book. I liked that the references to "Alice in Wonderland" were pretty subtle. I thought the retelling was well done. I liked the use of humor. It kept what could have been such a bleak book much lighter in tone. The book was very readable and, for the most part, kept me turning the pages. But, I have to admit, there's just something about her style that pushes my "really?" buttons. I had to put it down a few times and roll my eyes a bit. But, I'm not a teen and this is meant for teens. I'll be happy to recommend this to my patrons and I'll even be happy to read the sequel. A few eye rolls never hurt anyone. ”
