This book is cute because everything that is drawn asks for something else to be drawn. I love the illustrations in the book

    Primary book #9

This is a great book for students to become familiar with a bigger vocabulary. It uses a word, and then draws the word to understand fully what the word is.

From the list of banned and challenged books. Renowned author Eric Carle has had this childrens picture book banned in Aldine Independent School District (Houston)at the Magrill Elementary Library due to perceived sexual content by the nude figures of a man and woman. The book has also been challenged due to its parallels to the story of the Creation and Adam and Eve. DHynes

I thought this story was interesting and full of Eric Carle's unique illustrations. I also liked how the author included a letter at the back of the book of how he got his inspiration for the story. Not my favorite Eric Carle book, but it was still all right.

This picture storybook has beautiful and interesting pictures with a story line that encourages imagination. It also has instructions for drawing a star and was inspired by a German rhyme for drawing stars.

This is the fanciful adventure of a young artist who is asked to draw a star. The star asks the artist to draw the sun, and thus begins the journey of life for this young artist. His journey is filled with the beauty and color of the physical universe. His life is spent becoming one with elements around him. What better way to spend a life?

Was it banned because there is brief "nudity" or because it touches on creation of the universe?
