• Michael Donahue: Hero; screen writer for the popular television programme Logan's Run. Jolley's great-nephew by the former's son's second marriage. Has a distant relationship from his parents; loved Jolley as much as Pandora did.
• Maximillan Jolley McVie: Patriarch and multi-millionaire. Never set out to make money, but he always did. Dead at the beginning of the novel; his will reflects his eccentricity and the characteristics of his family. Closest to Pandora and Michael. Endearingly calls his mansion 'Jolley's Folley'
