“This is a formidable and wonderful anthology, gathered by Byrne R. S. Fone, one of the great scholars working in lgbt studies. It goes back to classical times, and into the modern, post AIDS era. As a writer, I was delighted to be included in it. Strangely enough, another anthology of this depth and quality has not come out since 1998, although there are some new writers out there who should be presented in a quality format. I guess no university press has undertaken one. ”
