Christy (who is Irish) has "the gift". Not to be cliched as in other "gift" books or movies, it really plays a minor role in the story. "The Seance" when there was such little to do with it. This is more of a whodunit style rather than a supernatural feel. It was a great read

The story basically follows the path of proving an officers (now deceased) innocence after the fact when the "interstate killings" begin to happen again with too much detail close to the original killings for it to be a copycat killer. Enter Jed, the famous author of the "fictional" writing of the interstate killer that really condemmed the fallen officer as the killer when in fact, you guessed it, there's a twist.

This wasn't the best nor the worst book I've read from Graham or others. It did lack a little omph for me. I found who the killer was a little bit of a let down. I wouldn't have minded a bit more creepiness from the killer's point of view and even a few brushes of death with Christie's character.

Still, once I picked it up I got into it despite a few blimps that rankled me. I do with the Beau had stuck around because having a ghost watch your back and help around wouldn't be so bad. In fact, it reminded me a bit of Denise, the ghost off of Ats.

This was a page-turner making it a very fast read; which is the kind I like. It grabs you right at the cover, especially if you are into the paranormal stuff. I will probably read some of her other books, too.

Terrible - I figured out the ending about 3 chapters in so I skipped ahead to see if I was right...then the book went right back to the library.

The Seance was one of those books that I just could not put down! Addictive, fast-paced, thrilling, and thoroughly fun, it had everything I wanted to read - mystery/suspense, romance, paranormal - and reminded me of R.L. Stine for adults. Of course it's not 'serious' fiction, who wants that when picking up a book that looks like this? It's fun brain candy, plain and simple, and there is absolutely nothing wrong with that. I haven't had an easy time finding books to read because my concentration level has taken a nosedive, but this book had me hooked from the back synopsis - and kept me hooked throughout. Yes, there are some editing issues, coincidences, red-heads seem to be the main population, redundancies (e.g. victims are attractive red-heads, beautiful red-heads, gorgeous red-heads, and did I mention Christina's a beautiful, attractive, gorgeous red-head also? Argh, it was annoying! I got it the first time; I don't need it repeated ten million times.), and I figured out who was behind everything in the first-seventh of the book, and who could have used more of an explanation for the why at the end, but my problems are eclipsed by the engaging plot. After Christina called Gen, I wondered if there was a previous book with her, Thor, and Adam, and there is called The Vision, and I've already ordered it from the library - I can't wait to read it! I'm thinking Heather Graham's romantic suspense novels might just be the key that'll keep me reading all the way to the end of a book, while keeping my attention along the way. :) So, overall, I liked the characters, the story was great, and even though it isn't even close to Hallowe'en, I would still recommend it for a thrilling good read.
