Audrey Whitticomb has grown up with the knowledge that her mother is anything but normal. While other moms work daytime jobs, pick their kids up from school and have dinner on the table on a regular business, Audrey’s mom is out saving the world. That’s right, folks. Lucy Whitticomb is a superhero, otherwise known as the Guardian, Morning Star.
Recently, a bunch of teenage girls have been reported missing and then have turned up dead. All of this brings Audrey to the realization (must to her mother’s dismay) that she is something called Kin, and that her mother doesn’t just protect the average citizen from muggers, rapists and murderers. No, Lucy Whitticomb doesn’t just hunt the normal bad guys, she also hunts demons that call themselves Harrowers.
With the knowledge of her family’s past and the life she should have grown up with, Audrey and her friends and family must quickly put their powers to use to find out who is behind the slaying of the teenage girls and stop it before all of the Kin are destroyed.
