Though I ashamed to say this is the only Woolf I've ever read, I certainly can highly recommend "Flush" as a wonderful biography of Elizabeth Barrett Browning's beloved pet spaniel (from what I can gather, maybe the most lighthearted--tho not lightheaded--thing Virginia ever wrote). Although Flush's life was certainly not without real peril & drama--he was kidnapped for ransom twice, something not uncommon in Barret's London--Woolf uses his point of view to look at the famous romance of his...
