Ethan, dead from jumping off the water tower, awakes to find himself in the Otherworld, with his mother. He practices crossing over to see friends and family until Aunt Prue reveals to him that he was not meant to be dead, that a page was added to the Caster Chronicles. He communicates with Lena via the newspaper's crossword puzzle and instructs her to retrieve the Book of Moons, which Ethan needs in exchange to get to the Caster Chronicles. Lena, Link, Ridley, John, and Macon try to get the book from Abraham Ravenwood. This leads to a fight, and Link kills Abraham. The Book is passed to the Otherworld, and Ethan gives it to the Gatekeeper Xavier. Ethan then fights Seraphine in a labyrinth, and she destroys herself in order for Ethan to pass on the deal that he must destroy Angelus. The Caster Chronicles are surrounded by water Mortals cannot cross. Ethan is able to cross and destroys Angelus' page before his own. He is returned to the world of the living in time to see Amma trade her life for his. A New Order is brought, Ethan and Lena can touch, and plans for the future are made.
