“Peter Singer is a utilitarian philosopher who works in practical ethics - the ethics of everyday life. He is best known for his work with regards to animal rights and vegetarianism, but most misunderstood in his views about end-of-life issues and euthanasia. In this book, a collection of his writings and interviews, he also raises consciousness about ways the affluent can alleviate human suffering and poverty in the world. An amazing book that has deeply impacted my life. ”

He is simply spending his time coming up with logical scenarios that mimick Swift's "A Modest Proposal". The problem with this however is that when he extends these "proposals" cross species he fogets about a species biological propensity not to kill those of its own species without reason, a species natural predilection to kills and eat other species, and humanity's cognitive ability to empathize. In fact he uses cognitive ability as a crutch for why humans should recognize the Swiftian Proposals he presents. I wasn't convinced.”
