John Corey was the man responsible for the death of al Qaeda leader, the Lion.
Now he's sent back to Yemen in attempt to lure, the Panther, for capture or death. The Panther is thought to be one of the masterminds behind the attack on the U.S.S. Cole.

  • Nabeel al-Samad: From Yemen, works in a deli in New York City. Has contacted John Corey for assistance in exchange for information. May be in the USA illegally. His purpose is to keep tabs on The Panther's US family.
  • Ed Burke: Ex new York City cop now working for the Feds in intelligence. Friend of Kate Mayfield and her husband, Anti terrorist agent, John Corey.
  • Howard Fensterman: FBI agent and chief legal attache' - Kate Corey is his assistant, possibly CIA.

  • Hadhramawt: a border providence of Yemen meaning "the place where death comes.
  • jambiyah: An ornate curved dagger worn by most of the men in Yemen. Is only unsheathed if it is going to be used.
  • thob or shiwal: traditional head gear worn by Arab men usually white in color
  • fouteh: White robe worn by the Arab men of the north (the men in the south wear a white sarong)
  • balto: an all encompassing black robe worn by the Arab women
  • hijab: a headscarf that can be wrapped around the face for Arab women
  • Khat: an amphetamine-like stimulate that causes excitement and euphoria, it can also produce manic behavior and hyperactivity and turns the teeth green; is chewed by most of the Yemen population
