• Kenneth Sutherland: Brother of Helen, who is betrothed to Magnus MacKay (Saint), and William, Earl of Moray who was supposed to marry Bruce's sister Christina but married their healer, Muriel, who is barren. He is now heir to the earldom. Former squire of the Earl of Ross. He has longish, dark wavy hair, startling blue eyes and is extraordinarily handsome.
• Mary of Mar: Sister of Robert the Bruce's first wife. Trapped in England because of her former husband's treason in supporting King Robert. She's 26-years old and has blond hair and blue-green eyes.
